Woodworking Mallet

Woodworking Mallet
I made this mallet out of cherry, black walnut, and oak. To make this mallet, I started by using the table saw to get my raw lumber into manageable pieces. I took those pieces and flattened them with the planer. After all my wood was square, I cut the pieces to their correct size. I took the black walnut and cut it in half and drilled a hole through the middle of each piece. Then I glued the head of the mallet together and filled the holes with metal BBs to add weight to it. I then put a 45 degree chamfer on all sides of the mallet head. Then I glued the handle in and hammered a wedge into the handle to lock it into place. I then sanded everything to 220 grit and finished the mallet with linseed oil.
